The Head of the Department of Modern English Teaching Practices at Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, Associate Professor Nataliia Slyvka is currently on an educational and scientific visit in the city of Soria, Spain.

Soria is an extremely picturesque city in the central-northern part of Spain, and is the administrative centre of the province of Soria within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It is there that one of the campuses of the University of Valladolid is located, with which Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy has had a long and successful cooperation since 2019. The partnership began with the project of international academic mobility for the Educational-Scientific Institute of Foreign Languages, initiated by Nataliia Slyvka who coordinates this project. There are currently 10 students studying at the University of Valladolid, 8 of whom are students of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Foreign Languages.

During her stay at the University of Valladolid, Associate Professor Nataliia Slyvka had the opportunity to expand her academic contacts and familiarize herself with teaching methods by attending English language classes conducted by lecturers of the Department of English Philology. She also participated in the coordination of pedagogical practice, visited local schools, and contributed to organizing an event within the framework of the project on innovations in teaching, overseen by the Department of English Philology at the Soria campus.

Nataliia Slyvka was also invited to a meeting with the teaching staff of the Department of English Philology at the Valladolid campus. During the meeting, Professor Berta Cano Echevarría, who is the academic coordinator of the master’s program «Languages and cultures in contact», and Associate Professor Nataliia Slyvka discussed the prospects for cooperation and the implementation of elements of “virtual mobility” for the speciality “Secondary Education” of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Foreign Languages, as well as the organization of joint scientific events and guest lectures.
