Institute of International Education

The institute is an educational-scientific structural unit of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy with the main purpose of organizing all forms of educational, scientific, methodological and growth work aimed at ensuring a high level of training for the foreign citizens and persons without citizenship within the system of continuous higher education from pre-college preparation to Doctor of Sciences courses.

The institute closely cooperates with the Ukrainian State Centre for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Information-and-Image Centre of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

Main tasks of the Centre:

• taking measures to attract foreign citizens and persons without citizenship to study in the fields licensed for the university and at the preparatory department;

• preparation and issuance of state-approved invitations for studying at the university;

• visa and registration activities;

• preparation of contracts on providing educational services, registration, accounting and assurance of their performance;

• matriculation of foreign citizens and persons without citizenship for the training, keeping the personal cases of the Centre clients;

• organization of educational process for foreign citizens and persons without citizenship;

• organization of scientific work with Centre clients;

• regulation of rights and responsibilities of foreign citizens and persons without citizenship during the stay at the university;

• preparation, processing, issuance of certificates Centre graduates according to the forms approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, preparation and legalization of degree certificates of foreign graduates;

• based on the agreements and contracts signed, ensuring the timely departure of foreign graduates after study term completion;

• preparation of materials for the university to gain licenses and provide educational services to foreign citizens and persons without citizenship;

• fostering the establishment of inter-university cooperation at the level of the centres, sharing the experience of working with foreign citizens and persons without citizenship;

• communication with embassies, community presidents, representatives of foreign countries in Ukraine on the issues related to the studies of international students at the university;

• with the aim of law infringement prevention, performing informational activities on the Laws of Ukraine, norms and rules of staying in Ukraine related to international students;

• international cooperation and partnership within the limits of authorizations vested in the centre based on the agreements signed by the university;

• establishment of communication with the foreign graduates of the university and the creation of the corresponding database.
